With all the chemicals in our food, water, etc, re-using sewage sludge as fertilizer seems like an obviously bad idea to me...

Solid material is sifted out of the water and digested by bacteria. However, even after that process, sewage sludge CAN (means may, we don't know. still hold elements from the waste.

They don't get funding for lavish expense accounts by saying anything is good.

The Ag industry doesn't want it to be studied because it doesn't get much cheaper than using untested sewage sludge. Milorganite was found to contain all kinds of toxic shit.
