Does anyone have any racial data regarding the presence of an internal monologue and the ability to mentally visualize

This article quickly explains what an internal monologue is. Unfortunately, it does not explain how those that do not have it can function in society. How do they decide things? Do they just use images instead of language? Do they always do things without thinking at all? They must think in some alien manner.

They're more or less instinctual automatons. I wouldn't call their thought process "alien"; just basic.

Why would you need language to think? Language is a crutch to communicate what you can think of, but it's very inefficient. When thinking I'm not too reliant on language. My thinking is like a movie. There's audio, yes, but there is also video. And smell and touch, but to a lesser extent, since it's kinda pointless.

I'm pretty convinced that there's a large subset of every race that's like this, but it would be interesting to see what the solid figures are.

Reminds me of the fact, that chimps have a higher visual memory than homo sapiens. It is said that developed humans have less, because they had to make room in their prefrontal cortex for higher social functioning.

I think you will be surprised how rare this is for white people too!

The npc's are a prime example of being unable to think in an autonomous way.

Indeed, IIRC, around 40% of the human population can't visualize. I don't know the stats on internal monologues, but it's similarly high. Amazing.

How do you differentiate between internal voice and internal thoughts? Reading up on what internal monologue means confuses me and I think I do not have such a thing, as I only have thoughts, but never hear my own voice. Or I guess there is a voice, but it's not my own voice.

I can also replay things I've seen, like movies and have all the different voices replay, too.

As long as all the voices in your head are getting along you are a ok. The problems arise when they get disgruntled and start arguing with eachother.

One of my personalities in my head is like a parent. It kinda suks cuz I'm grounded now for two weeks because I got drunk a while ago and was hung over, and missed the gym for two days.
After work I have to go straight home and do choirs. I'm not even supposed to be using the computer but I can because I think he's sleeping now. Shhh keep quiet or he'll wake up.
