Democracy is not a good thing. The last thing the founding fathers wanted was for the government to allow open elections of all citizens. Plus, we don't live in a democratic nation, it's a republic.
Well, it WAS a republic, but that was slowly destroyed with the movement toward democracy, federalism, and a strong centralized government.
