Webp still doesn’t render for some users. Most popular browsers support it, but if you are running an out of date browser or are using an obscure browser it may not render. Had a client running an iPhone that called me freaking out that images wouldn’t load on her site. Turns out she hadn’t updated her iphone for almost 3 years…

Shrinks file size for same and greater detail in many ways. Jpeg is a 1992 standard. You would be saying the same thing in 1992 about jpeg.

I personally witnessed a hit and run this monday right smack dab in the center of Pittsburgh an this nigger sped across the 7th st bridge with his hood flipped up, called 911 and reported it, had the license plate and when I checked state registration it matched the car, but no report on the weekly police blotter.

I have no idea how many times I have heard shootings just a few blocks from my place. Middle of the day a few Saturdays ago the police were crawling all over my block looking for 2 mass shooters who ran from the niggerhood to my block. One hid in a dumpster at the corner for a few minutes before scampering off again.

They are, they open embedded and play without a problem. I-phone users have trouble loading. But some mp4s won't load for some androids or browsers too, depending on the codec. (X.264, h.265, HEVC, etc) Webm is an open source standard supported by free software. Webp is jewgle.

2. There are plenty enough viable formats and webp is not needed.
3. It is not universally supported (and not a standard)
4. It is a format created by jewgle. Like all things they make, it sucks.

I've been reading rfcs for over 20 years now. Once again, a standardizing body only gives an implementation of a standard. It's simply centralization. There's nothing wrong with it but many things are standards that don't have an rfc. It's stupid to even suggest otherwise.

Jpg opens in stream with the site, embedded. Webp redirects the whole page to a new site entirely, unless you open in a new tab. Annoying to have to reload the page you are on and the posts have shifted around, or right click every link, or copy/paste to make sure it isn't a pdf, etc
