My own element server. Telegram uses a proprietary encryption algorithm which may not be as safe as the current accepted ones. Also they are able to decrypt your message on their server, so how safe is that??? Luke smith has videos about this. Only boomers and r-tards think they are safe using telegram

I know the weaknesses, but it is really hard to get people (especially boomers) to use something complicated (manually entered url, username, password). It is also nice that i can send large files.

I think you are correct though, I need to run a server for me and my friends who need more privacy. For family and normie friends i think telegram is much better than google/facebook messenger.

I just wondered because my last computer conked out and now I can't get on telegram unless I scan QR code with a smartphone which I don't have and I'm not going to get. It actually has a link that says "Get code with SMS" but if you click it, it pops up "You need to access telegram with a smartphone."
