"Monkey bars" / "jungle gyms"

Not only are these not allowed anymore because "OMG WHAT IF SOME LITTLE SNOWFLAKE GETS HURT?!!", the name alone would send leftists into apoplectic fits and uncontrollable shouts of "muh racism."

Insurance companies would shut this down immediately

We used to get the swings to their highest arc then 'leap' out, pretending to be para-troops crashing to the ground and rolling to our feet. Then running to get back in line to see how many 'jumps' we could get in during recess.

This guy still working on his form.

Broke my arm doing that in school. Landing on hard dirt and gravel. Once my arm was healed up, I was back at it.

Sometime after, I found the playground had smaller equipment and rubberized ground. It was a depressing find.

My school playground had these two poles with a cross beam at the top about 20 feet up. If you were good on the pole you could get all the way up and straddle that beam. Sometimes we would get the whole class up there, except for the girls and the rare fat boy. Teachers didn’t give a shit.

Sounds like death waiting to happen or at the very least thousands of dollars wasted by the parents to treat an avoidable injury.

Folks didn’t think like that in the 70’s. There’s a lot more pearl clutching pussies now days.

Not wanting to deal with the financial cost of a broken bone or the sunk cost of a dead child is pearl clutching? Are you saying everyone in the 70's was happy to pointlessly lose years of their earnings just so kids could have a bit of high risk fun?

Stfu, nigger-faggot.

I broke my arm falling from something like that in the 4th grade. It was in the morning and the bars were frost covered. I slipped off and landed on my arm. Then a nigger came along and stole my wallet.

good thing you didn't have your bike with you.

I DID have my bike with me, but it was out of sight. I had to ride home using the handle bars with my left arm only.

You either left elementary school as a man or you died.

That's nothing.
Back in my day. The playground at my school was basically a pile of logs with sheet metal for a slide.
A kid died on that thing every recess and nobody gave a fuck. The kids left alive at the end of the year were Darwin's favored beasts.
