Only charitable explanation is that they don't do English well (go back!) so can't spell their own name, and they don't even keep track of their daughter's grade. The woman didn't even act like a mother, saying "the daughter". Weird as hell.

I can look past " the daughter" because that's how it is in Spanish you would say la Nena even if she's yours but to not know the grade???
