Where have all the mosquitos gone?

submitted by Glowbright to AskGoats 2.9 yearsJun 8, 2022 09:36:17 ago (+5/-1)     (AskGoats)

Where I live there are a lot of mosquitos in the summer. How many mosquitos depends on how warm it has been and how wet it has been, but every year we have mosquitos. By June it is typically full on mosquito season. A hike in the woods all but requires insect replant because you will be swarmed by multiple little blood suckers at all times.

This year I kept waiting for the mosquito season to start... and it never did. Yesterday I worked in my yard all afternoon and was not bothered by a single mosquito. This is unheard of in this area.

Has anyone else noticed this? I know there have been a lot of concerns about Gate's plan to release millions of genetically modified mosquitoes this summer but I am no where near Florida and other locations where that was happening... But there is definitely something up with the mosquitos. My understanding is that they are a foundation of the bottom of the food chain and this could be a big issue by the end of the summer.

They are the state bird of Florida.

The saltwater skeeters are especially nasty fuckers. It is miserable if you find yourself by the mangroves exposed.
Not to mention the absolutely delightful no-see-ums…..

The GMO “Gates” skeeters were released in the keys. Give it a year and there will,be mutant skeeters that are the size of blue jays….

Thanks, glad you approve! I almost got all 'nice' for a second there but thankfully I dehomosexualized immediately.

Here in communist Canada I'm still burning wood in the evenings because it's so fucking cold and there's been no mosquitoes or real fly problem at all...this global warming is unbearable now, even the flies are burning up because of the cold. What a fucking joke these climate retards are.

They are all replaced by buffalo gnats and swarms of ticks this year.

East coast normal

The ticks are everywhere this year. Mosquitoes seem average

I went to Branson last week. I hiked along a creek in the woods and thought it was strange that I never saw any mosquitos. It looked like the perfect breeding area too.

Negative. There's plenty out in my area. They haven't even hit their peak yet.

Would you be willing to share you location in terms of East/West of the Mississippi and North/South of the Mason–Dixon line? I don't want you to self dox, but I am trying to understand how prevalent what i am seeing in my area is.

South East

North of Dallas still in Texas, and there are plenty of them here. Also an abnormally high amount of wasp/hornets/cicada killers/yellow stingy buzzy dudes

There are tons at my front and back door. They seem to group up to wait for me to let them in. I’ll save you guys some if you want.
