As Americans, we have a tendency not to remember shit. Old grudges aren't handed down like in other countries. The rest of the world does not operate this way. There are probably old women in Korea sitting around telling their great grand kids about how fucking evil the Japanese occupation was.
The Japanese occupation wasn't as bad as it is made out to be and Koreans only started the Japan hate long, long after WWII. By now, nobody is even still alive that experienced any of this.
I always wondered why Koreans have such a fucking inferiority complex towards Japan, but this article makes sense of that.
Does Japan still hold a grudge for being nuked twice? No. Does Germany still hold a grudge for being split in half and ass-raped for half a century? No.

Germans are told to feel guilty about it. Both are peace time countries. Korea needs warriors as they are still operating in a war time mentality.
