there doesnt need to be any studies. we know they dont stop viruses, theyre not made to. we know they cause bacterial pneumonia and a hundred other issues.
thats why every packet you buy says clearly on the label 'not appropriate for medical use' always has.
the science never changed, only the politics and the dumb motherfuckers that believe everything the TV tells them did.
Ok but when you're talking about a life or death issue, including someone else's life or death, surely any reduction in transmission/infection is significant?
Masks were used in the 1918 Spanish Flu, to insignificant success. And weren't used again for 100 years.
How many more devastating diseases than the coof were spread in that 100 years? Many. Yet society survived.
The best medical practices - that started thousands of years ago - are to quarantine the sick and vulnerable, and let everyone else get on with life as they see fit.
Cold viruses have been around for thousands of years, and have adapted to not kill their host - because killing the host is not good for any parasitic survival. The optimum parasite is one that actually has very limited impact on the host, which keeps any illness weak enough so the host doesn't quarantine.
The coof is also weakening - but getting more transmissible. Strange how nature worked that out, isn't it.
People die all the time, from diseases way worse than the coof, and so many other causes.
The fact that the medical industry is keeping people alive - who should have died - leads to all the taxes that I have to pay for health care. Also makes competition for resources much more damaging to the young and healthy - and drives up costs for everything.
I would much rather see medical resources being used to treat and save a teenager than the old who have outlived their usefulness. And the fatties, and others with so many comorbidities who should have died long ago and have a limited shelf life, providing no benefits to society.

The most positive one shows something like a 20ish percent reduction - with very questionable methodology.
The most reputable studies show only a 1-2% reduction in cases from mask wearing.
Throw the stats at these tyrants. But don't expect anyone to have rational thought anymore.
