Went TDY to the desert.

DHL plane lands. We were currently all employed on other jets.

Radio the tower ask them if they need assistance blocking in. Tower radios DHL. Nope said they're all good just droppin off mail.

Cool. Go back to refueling. Watch from a distance as they chock and block. Was impressed they even remembered the fire extinguisher at the front of the plane.

Finished 3rd refuel and started bringing in some limey plane. Dude asks me to full the plane up in litres. I say tell me what that is in freedom gallons and I'll change your broken taxi light for free. Limey laughs in british.

Walking to refuel the next plane notice the DHL crew of 2 getting ready to take off. I yell "need any help before I start refueling?"

Nope all good. Throw em the peace sign. Start calling the fuel guys. Fuel truck shows up. In the middle of connecting the hoses to the plane and I hear a THUD CLANG and a bad prop wind. I look over at the DHL plane and they ran over the fire extinguisher after doing a pre flight inspection.🙄

My buddy starts running over to the plane and I grab him back and tell him that shit could explode wait for them to cut the engine.

DHL crew gets out walks to front of the plane pilot starts shaking his head. I yell over "you guys OK!?!" He waves me off.

Walk of shame to the guard house as they explain what just happened. We tow the plane to the side of the runway as QA shows up with their cameras and documentation.

Planes a write off. DHL gets peepee slapped.

Heavy, clean, and slow.
