Do you ever look up old friends on the interwebs, and wish you hadn’t?

Sometimes I am reminded of things I’d rather forget

Other times I find out things I’d rather not know.

I spend a bit of time thinking about old friends, and I’m actually afraid to make contact because of what I might find out. Like, I don’t want to hear of someone doing poorly. Also, sometimes it opens a can of worms and you end up hearing a bunch of stuff about other people as well, and it’s just too much.

I don’t do faceberg btw.

Yes I don't use face berg either. I haven't heard about the classmates I went to school with and I doubt it is good. Others surely slipped through the cracks With their parents businesses. But I can already imagine all that so why bother? I'm doing better that most of them considering I got in early on crypto. Probably none of my classmates are beating me money wise

A douchebag I knew in high school ended up in jail for soliciting minors. Seems he still enjoyed his "glory days" and never bothered to find not highschool girls.

Former coworker is spending 40 years for sexual assault of a teenage female "relative" (not blood related or officially married).

Past love interest filed for bankruptcy two years after removing her from my life.

I tend to only discover the past failures, not much on successes. No social media, just online circuit court and Dept. of Corrections online records...I love Wisconsin.

I've only looked up one friend and it ended up being a 20 minute call. But because of the time difference when they called I was half awake and don't remember how the call went. Got a disconnection recording the next time I called.

It’s super depressing seeing all the old childhood friends with their photo albums full of half breed kids you know they’re either lying to about being White, or actively teaching to be ashamed of their White “side”.

It is hilarious though watching how those half breed kids are 5x more likely to be faggots or whores then the ones with White kids.

I am content with no one having curiosity about me and me about them. I honestly don't think anyone is interested because I left school long before social media was a thing and that crowd was way past caring.

Facebook is fucking gay though. It's woke retarded relatives (events like weddings/funerals/meets/holidays), wives and kids that are the problem if you don't want your face on there.

No, for a few reasons. I never had things easy. I had terrible luck, but busted my ass. I often worked to physical illness, only to go one step forward, and three back. I'm only in my mid 30s and am broken, sore, and lonely as hell, with a light at the end finally in sight. Things are getting better, but the world is falling apart around me. Oh well. One step at a time.

I tend to be an inherently jealous and resentful person. I knew people who lived like total scumbags, yet had the world seemingly gifted to them on a silver platter. Karma is a fantasy. Not going to go out of my way to be more miserable over lives that don't pertain to me; no need to feed into my worst personality trait. I'll be the best I can with what I have provided for myself. Might not be the ideal life, but I fucking tried and continue to do so. I'm sure I'm somewhere "middle of the pack", all things considered.

Which leads into: If old friends needed my effort to stay in contact, while putting in none themselves, then I simply don't need them. They obviously didn't care. My main group of friends is the same I've had for over 20 years, and I'm grateful for those lasting bonds.

Finally: I don't use social media. I played with myspace and xanga way back, and left disgusted. Facebook was such a blight for a while, that I blocked its domain on my home router so even guests couldn't use it.

I looked up a woman I was engaged to 30 years ago. She’s had two husbands that killed themselves. One jumped off an overpass in San Antonio. That one made the news because it fucked up traffic so badly. He was a FED. The other one, I don’t know how he did it. Guess I dodged a bullet.

This fellow stopped his truck and hopped over the side of an overpass that was several hundred feet tall. The dipshit landed on a car during morning rush hour, then he was run over by a few other drivers. If you’re going to kill yourself, there are ways to do it where you don’t endanger anyone else. I used to do things similar. I don't anymore.

Once people have left my life it seems like, a specific section of life has passed.

I don't see or really communicate w people I knew in my 20s, because I currently have nothing in common w them( and I had little in common w them then) and we never see ea h other in our day to day.

I'm not going to force the universe to see these people. They aren't a naturally occurring thing in my life, and I'm not going to track them down. If they had anything to add to my life I'd encounter them...

Or not. Maybe I should go find them. That might be a good productive idea as well. Maybe I lost something along the way and if I found those people I might remember..
