I have a t-shirt commemorating the Sky King. (Search Etsy). An old codger at Home Depot saw my shirt and he said he used to love that show back in the 50’s. I said, ‘huh’? Never heard of it’

I said my shirt was about a guy that stole a plane, did some flips, and then crashed it, he was dubbed the Sky King. The old codger said, ‘huh’? Never heard about that’.

The engineers know the limits. You can flip a lot of aircraft, thing is, this puts enormous stress on it and it'll likely not pass muster for another flight.

Because it looked like a small uninhabited island, and he was running out of fuel. He could have survived, and he did survive the barrel roll and other feats...... He should have lived. Realistically, he probably wouldn't even have done much jail or prison time, even though he said to ATC they would lock him up for life. He was a "just a broken man"

Why crash there? Why take a plane. . . I don't think we can answer that for him.
