To be clear the wave itself probably crashed against a concrete barricade on the other side of the apartments and it was the splash up from that which went up and over the top of the two-story condos. If that had been an actual solid curling wave that topped over those two story condos then the two story condos would have been gutted and the water will come through the other side. It would have been thousands of tons of water. And those flimsy condos wouldn't have had a chance to stop it.
