What the fuck is wrong with software that needs more than 16gb of ram? I remember like 5 years ago working on solid edge and everything was so fucking slow. It's just a fucking bloatware upon bloatware.
Diversity hires, software bloat, using frameworks instead of proper coding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6fZt-P_bDk The tl;dr is that as hardware has gotten even better and cheaper, programmers became lazier and less skilled. There's no need to try and make your web browser take up less than 1GB of RAM when you already know ahead of time most computers have 8GB or more. Might as well just allow it to take up 6GB. Which is how you get shit like Google Chrome.
I don't know how to comment on that... Let me just tell you how i see things. I have been hacking and cracking stuff intermittently over the years. Mostly just for research purposes. I have been even successful in sdr tempest(you know this as airgap, probably). The other thing is that in recent years i had little motivation to delve deep into these topics, although they are very interesting. Depression, probably. Anyway. I look at the jewtube videos of various channels and like, it seems forever, they seem to stamp on the same ground. The popular channels are always entry level, talking about "super hacker stuff", while never showing technicalities. Maybe i want to be spoonfed, i don't know. Although, even with my laziness i have researched something i haven't found anywhere on the internet. Tempest sdr is maybe closest to that, but it's based more on biology(another thing is that people usually know only one subject). For some years i have been wondering where did all the cool "kids" go. Maybe i just haven't found them. Maybe they are lost forever in entertainment and corporate buyouts.
You will pretty much never find any significantly useful information on how to crack/hack things effectively on normie websites like youtube, reddit, etc. The people who do know what they are doing are all hiding away on their onion sites and forums. Hacking has also become much more of a secretive need to know type of thing. Hackers don't like sharing their secrets with other people. At the same time, they have to be constantly wary about feds because unlike the early 2000s, hacking has exploded and is being taken far more seriously by governments as more and more things become reliant on the internet and computers. From industry to banking, electric and computerized vehicles, etc. Hell, they even go after people who hack online whores accounts and distribute their porn for free because it damages the whore's income.
At the same time, anti-hacking measures are constantly being stepped up and increased. It takes far more work and effort to find effective hacking methods than ever before as companies spend more money and effort on trying to make their systems hack-proof.
The other thing is, hacking is a niche and high barrier of entry, high skill ceiling, time consuming thing to learn and do. Normies ain't got time, patience, drive, passion, etc. for that. Overloading normies with complexities is basically pointless. As a result, hackers have little to no incentive to do so as they are very unlikely to actually inspire normies to become hackers so much as just bore them.
I forgot to mention, a lot of old school hacking like what you were talking about with SDR Tempest is highly reliant on people downloading and installing malware. In today's world, people are more aware about not downloading and installing sketchy shit. Or clicking sketchy links.

Well even if you use a delightfully gutted copy of Windows such as AME it's into you for 4-7GB right out. That's half your ram right there.
Idk about what the next commenter is going on about sloppy code might also be true but I'm just giving you a logical upgrade path with the 2 vs 4 sticks of RAM.
I've run 32GB of RAM for 6+ years and that seems to cover all my use cases.
I am interested to see how DDR5 pans out for my work load.
Yeah it'll do for now. The good thing is that you can upgrade up to a faster 16 core newer gen CPU should your work become very processor heavy without having to change the motherboard. Also make sure the RAM is two sticks of 8GB and not one stick of 16GB as that'll have an effect on performance. And hopefully the RAM is at least 3200MHz as Ryzen loves fast RAM.
Excellent. Even if the MHz is on the lower side, you can always upgrade later on since it is a PC after all. And since you have 4 slots, you can get maybe upgrade to 32 gigs (4 sticks of 8GB) when black Friday comes around. As someone who used to use CAD software in the construction industry, I highly recommend it in the near future as 32 gigs will be a comfortable amount of memory for your kind of use. 16 might cut it a tad close, especially if you're multitasking on top of using CAD/CAM software.
And you probably already know this, but be sure those two sticks are placed in the right slots of the motherboard for dual channel (usually every other slot but check the motherboard's manual to be safe).
If it's a second hand PC it's a good deal. The problem with it being off the shelf is, the parts in that PC are close to breaking even. So, any manufacturer is going to go out of business with prices like that. So, where do they get their profit from? Spyware, Bloatware, Freeware. Junk installed from the factory from shady software companies who will Jew you later.
It's a good deal. But always nuke the OS and install Linux.
For 20 years I had a super nerd brother in law that would build all my PC’s. I would spec one out on a PC site, print it off and give it to him, then he would build it for 1/3rd the price. If you have no computer skills, like me. This may be what it costs to order a custom PC set up thru a vendor.

Just make sure you're doing 2x8gb sticks of Ram and not 4x4gb sticks so you can easily upgrade later.
That board has 4 slots.

Maybe upgrade the RAM. And add some additional storage. And paint a nice big swastika on the case.
