“Black Lives Matter,” the racehorse which gained national attention for its demonstrative moniker, has died, according to its owners. The Hatley family, which became the first Black family to race quarter horses in Texas, revealed that its colt had mysteriously died following a routine veterinary procedure.

The horse was admitted last week to an equestrian veterinary clinic in Texas, but when the Hatleys arrived to retrieve their prize-winning pet he was found unresponsive and lying still in a stall
