How certain are we really though that the robber is White? Do we have a name and/or physical description? Do we have a picture of the robber's face? Or is this based solely on the skin color of his hands? If this is the only indication we have of the robber's race, it may not be enough. Could be a beaner, another asian, or even a super light-skinned nog. Maybe it's a jew, although, this may be unlikely. Perhaps jumping to conclusions here is a mistake.

Legally speaking this is not a self defense scenario. The thief jumped the counter and went directly for the product, at no point did he make a physical move on the owner or brandish a weapon that could objectively be seen as giving the owner reason to believe he was in imminent physical danger. In fact it was the owner that ran to the thief and not vice versa. This looks a lot more like defense of property, which I am all for but this guy could be looking at serious charges.

Not sure about that. It was two vs. one. It was a ski mask store robbery, the kind where clerks routinely get killed. He had to fight and make it one on one. If he waited for them to attack he would be dead himself. He did the only thing a rational person could in that scenario.
