The DA's office has a point in the article when they state their concerns about these guards carrying weapons without good tactical or de-escalation training. This happened in Multnomah, Tennessee, a place that's about 95% White and everyone involved was White. The redneck and his wife were there to steal pallets to resell and was already banned from that shopping center and from the Lowe's, where the incident occurred. The two were being typical stupid rednecks and the security guard was White.

There's a fair amount of backstory to this, which you don't get just from this video. The security guard was justified.

Nothing in that back story provides a justification to use deadly force. You can't stand in front of a guys truck, order him to leave, and then shoot him when he moves his truck.
