The problem with strays and "rescue" animals is that they are not really tame, and not really wild. They may love you and you love them, but everyone else will hate you because they keep barking all night or terrorizing all the other animals or humans around. Most people don't really know how to take care of animals properly, and when you have a half-wild animal coupled with a retard owner, it is just a crap-show for all in the vicinity.
I took in a stray, I love her and she love me, and she is ok with other people. Advantage of taking in a stray, i think, is that she is still a very good hunter. And thus my home is mostly rodent free.

Dogs are good judges of character and are one of the most social animals, they are mirrors of our own behaviour. Cats just want food and are one of the shittest animals on the planet. Pet fish and birds are better companions than cats.

Cats don't judge ones character, they go where the food is. They are solitary animals and do not live in socially structured groups. You are confusing cats with dogs again. Dogs are excellent judges of character and are exceptionally emotionally intuitive, their entire purpose for being is to find where they belong in a social hierarchy as a pack animal that was selectively bred by humans.
Studies have also shown that dogs are very good at interpreting human gestures and behaviour. Cats don't give a shit about you, they just want food and only tolerate your presence because you give them food. Assuming cats care about you is wishful thinking because you own a cat, the cope is denying reality and all provable biology regarding studies with cats because you want it to be true.
Perhaps dogs have shown you to be unworthy of their presence, hence the need for you to adopt a cat as a pet.

Consider being kind to animals and adopting a stray. I have taken in five strays and provided them medical/dental care, food/water, shelter, spayed/neutered, shots, parasite treatments, and uncondiitional love. They have provided me and my family with unlimited love, kindness, and enjoyment.
The only problem is keeping them in their cages rather than calling 911 to report me. They are tired of watching TV all the time.
