Let me spell this shit out for you. I'll refer to my submission as "1" and yours as "2."

1 has a pandemic. 2 has an epidemic that targets only Japanese people. 1 is a natural disease. 2 is an engineered disease. 1 has no vaccine. 2 has a vaccine.

1 is survival in a collapsing society driven by most of the people being brain dead and controlled by what is effectively a parasitic mind-controlling host.

2 is a "the cure is the disease" story with the traditional Japanese philosophical childhood-based examination of what it is to be alive versus what it is to be "alive." There is no survival element as the "survival" concept is an abstraction of what it is to be human and thus raising the question of consciousness what makes "life."

1 is a story of the survivors. 2 is a story of those changed (not dead, not brain dead) by a medical intervention as opposed to the disease.

The two are not similar. Not even close.
