We had a junior accountant from Jamaica. She talked like she was on the streets of Kingston AND she was willfully stupid so everyone soon learned to avoid her unless absolutely necessary. She'd sing church songs at her desk and since mgmt was too scared to approach her in case it blew up in their faces she got moved to a plum office that was away from everyone else.

Eventually management got tired of putting up with her lackluster performance and plans were in place to fire her on a Friday, with severance pay of course. To everyone's delight she marched in on the Wednesday and quit without giving any real reason.

A few weeks later we got a call. Apparently she'd applied for unemployment benefits, not realizing that when you quit for no reason you can't apply. Then she started claiming all sorts of terrible conditions at the job which had made it impossible for her to work there. She had zero documentation or evidence so it got tossed pretty fast.
