What matters is that her results of the UCSB study was published in a Peer reviewed journal, where scholars review the material, that doctors from other schools duplicated the results. And perhaps more interesting, the Feds raided the UCSB labs in response to her findings, taking everything.
If it turned out Chuck Yeager never got his pilot license, does that take away from his achievement?
