Non neurotic "super smeller" here AMA - Upgoat

Can you tell what people have been eating by their sweat? Have you ever come across a death/dying smell from people on their way out... supposedly cats in hospices can tell you who is next to go. What are your favorite scents?

My own sense of smell is pretty poor. I blame it on all the antihistamines I took as a kid. But one time I had a job where I had to go into people's houses for social work and one of the clients didn't bathe. I won't describe the details because it's revolting to recall, but I got through it by wiping Vicks vapor rub under my nostrils. I couldn't wait to go home and shower because the smell would linger on my clothes just from standing in his home for 5 minutes.

Same exact shit. Everyone in my life growing up told me I was a picky eater. Well fuck them when they under/over cook stuff, let it set out. Fuck the texture up.

At this point in my life I can crank down a burger most places but hate it. High end dinning is mostly okay.

97% of the time I or my wife(extensive training) need to cook for me.

I ran a Resturant, guess what? 4.9/5 stars. You know why? Because it turns out being a picky cunt has value.

I can tell a mid-to-severe diabetic at a distance.
Or that smell of death some people start to give off; kind of like a mix between old people and moth balls stinks with a little wet pennies scent thrown in.

I have no smell, anosmia. Something that developed during my 30's and 40's... I'd gladly trade you super smell for my no smell. Fucking sucks not being able to taste any kind of nuance... salty, sweet, sour or bitter, that's it.

"The smell", I love that. You're fortunate to have been in the situation to be tested. Firstly, the McDonald's bag trick is just when you can pull 20 sandwiches out of the bag and hand them out because you can tell what's on each without unwrapping them.

You probably know every example I could give you. Pen ink, to name one, all smells different by brand. When you're writing, not Anne Frank's old diary (but idk maybe).

I will say there is no smell that makes me want to vomit. Not that I've found so far, anyway. There are even bad smells that make my mouth water because it's related to something I noticed either in a certain food or perhaps part of its cooking process.
