Speaking as a firearms instructor, I am wondering how exactly she got through firearms training and actually qualified without either A) learning the proper way, or B) exactly like this. Either way, the mind boggles.

If I ever had a student show up on the range tooled up like this, I wouldn't have said a word to them about it. I would have isolated them on one of the end-most shooting lanes, set up the camera, and then watched carefully to see what she did to solve her problem when the targets turned. Some of the best "don't do this" teaching videos I have consist of students not even realizing that they are doing dumb shit right up until the moment comes to clear leather on the clock. Unloaded weapons, all magazines empty, holster empty, trust me, I've seen them all.

Me: "Threat!" Her: "WHUBBITY-ABBADEEGABBITY-GABBITY-GOO!" (Or words/actions to that effect)

Yes, there literally are. I am pretty sure the NYPD has standards requiring IQ to be below a certain threshold in order to qualify for "service" in the department.
