According to Jourgensen, one of the biggest problems is the fact that disinformation has been amplified on social media platforms during the coronavirus pandemic.
Muh disinformation. Yeah he’s a real critical thinker. Real consistent message there.
Nope. The eucharist comes in bulk, in plastic bags. Eucharistic wine is basically non alcoholic, and it doesn't have a blood type. The miracle of the eucharist is symbolic. That means it's open to interpretation. That means it's bullshit.
Thats really fucking fascinating, but I was responding to someone talking about what catholics believe, and Im not interested in what you’re interested in.
Truth isn’t a matter of opinion. It doesn’t matter what someone believes when that belief is objectively false. The Bible says they are wrong. If you don’t care, then enjoy hell. Otherwise follow what Christ actually said rather than what a bunch of entrenched pedophiles owned by jews say.
The truth is catholics do doctrinally accept transubstantiation literally. That is easily certifiable as fact.
Okay. It’s wrong, but okay.
Like get a divorce? What did jesus say about that?
What about it? I don’t support divorce. I also don’t support worshipping a human woman who was not sinless and did not remain a virgin her whole life and was not assumed into heaven, nor do I support calling human men “father” nor can they absolve me of sin, nor are they solely responsible for dispensing the gospel to me or of hearing my confessions, nor are these priests forbidden from marrying and having children, nor will I engage in vain repetitions as penance for sin.
None of this is about what an individual supports. It’s about what the Bible says. Papists can certainly believe that grape juice turns into blood if they like. It’s not true, but they do believe it.
I was raised Catholic, served as an alter boy for many years. I watched how the priests, deacons, and bishops handled the eucharist "back stage". I don't ascribe to any religion and I don't consider myself a Christian. Just someone with first hand experience in how the sausage is made.
You must have heard of the word transubstantiation. That is official catholic teaching. Did you think when they invented that word they were just kidding? This is what people believed for 2000 years. If they did not teach it to you they did not teach catholic doctrine. What did they do with the extra wafers after mass? Chuck them in the garbage?

Catholicism is a false doctrine... Who cares what the followers of the whore of the Revelations say or preach? Let them become false prophets if they want to... The fact that they belief in the whore already is misguides them... But they will have to find their way back to Jesus on their own.
There’s certainly no evidence of transubstantiation; that stuff is clearly false. It’s interesting to note that studies of the Shroud and two other relics claimed to hold Jesus’s blood all showed AB-. That’s not something which would be coincidental, given how few people have that type.
Is there some significance with AB- on its own, other then general rarity? I’m not opposed to the historical person Jesus actually existing. And he would obviously have a blood type.
Not that I know of. Just consider the statistical probability of artifacts maintained since the Bronze Age, found today in different places (where they’ve been for centuries), having the same (most rare) blood type if they weren’t originals to a single individual.
Catholics don't believe in literal transubstantiation, even Catholics prior to the Vatican II. Of course some might, but line up 100 European Catholics and 99 don't. Basically what I'm saying is: do your own reading, faggot.
Catholics don't believe in literal transubstantiation, even Catholics prior to the Vatican II.
You are wrong. Catholics absolutely do and I doubt the new jewish pope and his cabal have produced any writing to contradict that. Liberal catholics might believe that but the church always taught literal transubstantiation. People who had good catechism were all taught that.
No, they don't. For Christ's sake Helena, you think regular white Catholics walking the streets think the wine literally turns into blood and the host literally turns into skin? You can't possibly. This hasn't been a realistic talking point in 50 years. You'd have to be old as fuck and a communion kneeler to have been taught this.
Most “regular white catholics” are not devout, they are closer to agnostic and do not accept many of the beliefs that are core to catholic dogma. The ones that truly believe and are educated according to the dogma absolutely believe that and thats what all catholics are taught preparing for first communion unless your ccd teacher was a heretic.
And if you have a hard time believing that god could change the substance of the eurcharist to the body of jesus, may I suggest you will have a hard time with a lot of supernatural phenomenon intrinsic to catholic belief like virgin births and the holy trinity and the resurrection of dead people. I mean, c’mon fuck reddit, you think regular white Catholics walking around the streets think Jesus was executed and literally got up the next day? Some dont and these are called nominal catholics, lapsed catholics— they dont really buy the whole story. But catholicism isnt really a salad bar. I never got that impression. There are at least hundreds of millions of devout catholics that accept the whole enchillada and I know some of them and they arent retards. I know what I was taught and they were crystal fucking clear on the subject.
Im not catholic anymore. But I say, if youre gonna be catholic, than be catholic. Vatican 2 is for fags. Based catholicism is trad catholicism, unjewed by progressives. Latin mass, kneeling, and no fags. Censers, confessionals, no folk music. And fucking transubstantion. You’re gonna cherry pick your miracles? Then the whole thing unravels. Did he really turn water into wine? How many fishes and loaves did he really have? Maybe faggotry is ok. Its just arbitrary.
Catholicism is a package deal. Its not supposed to be flexible for you.
I agree with 90% of that, so I'll only mention where we differ.
1st communion kids haven't been taught it's literally flesh and blood since the late 70s. I'm not suggesting it isn't happening anywhere, but it's not the norm. You can learn this for yourself by enrolling a 2nd grader and volunteering to help out. Or, ask the bishop himself when there's a confirmation happening. You are 100% wrong this literal interpretation is what's being taught today. You can say that's not true all you want, but it doesn't change the fact I'm correct.
Those nominal Catholics count in the line up of 100 I mentioned. You can split hairs all you want over who's a better Catholic, but I'm still correct.
He’s a late millennial, not a human. He literally typed that out in a post about a Catholic right here that thinks exactly that. And doesn’t even care my post was a QUESTION and not a statement. There’s few people on the site more desperate to avoid information just to lunge on an opportunity to “gotcha”. Even if he literally makes it up from nothing.
I can make the same arguments for protestantism being syncretic and pagan. You dont think evangelicals getting whacked on holy spirit and quivering and shaking and rolling around on the ground and babbling like a wild man is pagan? I can find syncretistic and pagan beleifs and practices in every denomination because christianity was invented by a bunch of jews but its not practiced by jews. Different groups interpret the religion differently. Christmas is pagan. Easter is pagan. Protestants dont observe them?
Christianity wasn't 'invented'. It is the correct understanding that the teacher(the old testament) is meant to bring us to.
Yes, there are over actors, fakers and irresponsible practitioners of all denominations. This is not an argument for complete corruption, only what we already know, that there are those who are sincere and those who are frauds.
Just because you believe like a fake Christian , don't get comfortable.
The Bible tells us there will be people who say to Jesus when he comes back "Lord Lord, did we not prophesy and cast out demons and did mighty works in your name." And he will say to them, "Depart from me, I never knew you."
Yes, there are over actors, fakers and irresponsible practitioners of all denominations. This is not an argument for complete corruption,
So when protestants are syncretic and pagan, its just a few iresponsible practitioners and it doesnt reflect on protestantism. But with catholicism, syncretic and pagan practice is “complete corruption” . I see.
Youre just cherry picking. Pentacostals treat the holy spirit like its crack cocaine. They get a “hit” and suddenly they are saved? So pagan. And core to their beliefs! Not just accepted by an irresponsible few. You’re saved no matter what, just because you got blissed out on holy spirit? This is all fine and normal, but the Eucharist is just beyond the pale, eh?
Presumably you have some problem with the papacy. Which is arbitrary. Where the scriptural support for divorce , a totally degenerate practice that virtually all protestant sects embrace? Nowhere in the new testament. If we’re gonna take our cues on divorce from old testament jews, than why not polygamy too? Why not mandatory circumcision?
Where’s the scriptural support for predestination among the Calvinists? That seems to be in direct conflict with what the evangelicals’ belief— that anyone can simply believe in Jesus to be saved . So which of these two protestant groups is the heretic? These are core beliefs! Which of these two is a total corruption of christianity?
You were raised in the protestant tradition and so you were taught to overlook all the conflicts among protestant sects and treat the catholic church as the bete noire, simply because of political conflicts that existed 400 years ago. It was democrat v republican shit.
Protestantism exists because a bunch of rich guys didnt want to be subject to the control of another buch of rich guys, and plus guys like Henry VIII and Martin Luther wanted to screw lots of chicks.
I think your prejudice toward catholicism is capricious give the syncretism and theological conflict between protestant sects. And look at what happened to the puritans. They are fucking unitarians now! Is that irresponsible? Which sects do not have a hierarchy which is not woke and rotten to the core? Anabaptists maybe, because they dont have a hierarchy.
So when protestants are syncretic and pagan, its just a few iresponsible practitioners and it doesnt reflect on protestantism. But with catholicism, syncretic and pagan practice is “complete corruption” . I see.
No, really, you don't see. That's how life is, some believe and some are frauds, and obviously it does reflect on protestantism, this would be the conversation we're having about it.
Catholicism IS completely corrupted from the beginning. The name itself is derived from the Greek;Kata Holikos, meaning Wholly down. Opposite of Up, that is the divine expression of Christ.
Youre just cherry picking. Pentacostals treat the holy spirit like its crack cocaine. They get a “hit” and suddenly they are saved? So pagan. And core to their beliefs! Not just accepted by an irresponsible few.
Cherry picking what? That is not salvation, that we are witnessing; which is why I said that prayer should be done privately, not videoed as a spectacle.
You’re saved no matter what, just because you got blissed out on holy spirit? This is all fine and normal, but the Eucharist is just beyond the pale, eh?
You're introducting the idea of 'greasy grace' or 'eternal salvation' into something that didn't involve it. I don't see anything relating to salvation in this. The Eucharist is another separate doctrine, not on display or relevant to this conversation. What we are seeing in the video are charismatics in worship/prayer, I would consider it to be particularly out of order and non-standard, but prayer/worship never-the-less.
If you want to talk about these things, I'm all for it, but it seems kind of out of place sliding them into... whatever this is.
Presumably you have some problem with the papacy. Which is arbitrary.
Arbitrary like, Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Look, I get the frustration, a lot of the stuff you're bringing up here are misunderstandings about the faith and differences between doctrine and denominations.
I wasn't raised Christian. I was an Atheist until I was 31 years old. I went full-dive into theology and eschatology and you name it, trying to get to the bottom of it all. To the distilled 'truth' of it.
You know what I've found? Most people stop at some point, where they've found a comfortable resting place. They've found someone who will feed them the answers that they 'need'. And they stop. They nearly virtually stop walking with God, because they're letting someone else do their thinking for them from then on out.
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
Narrow is the path.
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Study to show yourself approved.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
Narrow is the path.
Matthew 7:13-14
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Study to show yourself approved.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Many do not.
