Why do moslems name their kids Mohamed?

submitted by lord_nougat to AskUpgoat 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 13:05:07 ago (+24/-0)     (AskUpgoat)

Why would they name them all after their prophet?

We don't frequently see buddhists naming their kids Buddha [except for that one guy on last voat], or Christians naming their kids Jesus [unless they're mexicans, but they say HEY, ZEUS, so they honor an older god], or jews naming their kids Satan.

Have some originality!

Because even though he is their prophet, he was just a human man.

Or *sub*human man, in this case.

I've always thought it was weird too. I chalk it up to being low class people.

The problem should be them not being ashamed of mohammed committing crimes and showing up on police databases. You'd think they'd be held to a higher standard with punishments ranging from decapitation to being renamed posthumously.

[ - ] lord_nougat [op] 2 points 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 13:42:00 ago (+2/-0)

I think it would be more like you say if they had our same perception of "crimes". They're much like jews and they have their own 'rules of acquisition'.

Joshua is the English form of Jesus because Jesus's name wasn't "Jesus," it was Yeshua.

Mohammed is the most common name on earth. They're not naming their kids after their prophet, their prophet just had an extremely common name.

Well Buddists and Christians don't have a prophet, that would be a little presumptuous to name your kids after a God.

Maybe it's just a catholic thing but all the male middle names here are "Joseph" and the female middle-names are "Mary". It's not used on a day-to-day basis and it's not on our driver license but it's on our birth certificates.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 21:39:05 ago (+0/-0)

Catholics name their kid Jesus all the time, though. "Hispanics" I don't know if they get that from Spain, but they do it in the Spanish speaking Americas.

[ - ] goatfugee12 1 point 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 16:58:34 ago (+1/-0)

Consider...

a) e pluribus unum (out of many; one) aka the parasitic few suggesting collectivism to merge the many into a one world slave class.

b)attempts from within the many to combat the corporate identity racket by the few through blending into an equally branded crowd. A different approach to this represents the African-American attempt to use street-names to obfuscate the corporate identity racket. Harder to get your hands on a perp called sodapop; my nigga t-low; dog etc.

[ - ] lord_nougat [op] 0 points 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 15:21:49 ago (+0/-0)

Well yeah. That, and they're just too damned dumb to handle real names.

[ - ] ImplicationOverReason 0 points 2.7 yearsOct 16, 2022 06:42:29 ago (+0/-0)

real names

a) perceivable reality doesn't brand anything; suggested fiction tempts one to idolize brands.

b) NAME, noun - "combination of sounds used to express an idea"...sound differentiates those within. If those within choose to combine (information); they ignore they differentiated (inspiration).

This ignorance can be exploited by the few suggesting "insane person" to tempt the many to ignore perceivable "in sanus" (within sound) + "per sonos" (by sound) aka being within and by sound.

c) as for niggers being too dumb...what if consenting to a suggested name represents domestication of free will by submission to another? Why is it that branding a child is called "civilizing"; while branding a dog is called "domesticating"?

Many whites are also named after the abrahamic God (Samu-el) or pagan gods (theodore, isadore) or prophets (Daniel, Elijiah, Jeremy) or saints. So it’s not that weird. Maybe there was a taboo about naming your kid Jesus in the early Roman church.

[ - ] lord_nougat [op] 1 point 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 16:47:36 ago (+1/-0)

Helena sounds lie ancient Greek or something!

[ - ] PostWallHelena 0 points 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 17:02:50 ago (+1/-1)

Yeah it may have been related to the name of the godess Selene. So there you go.

[ - ] lord_nougat [op] 3 points 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 17:08:04 ago (+3/-0)

The goddess of selenium!

[ - ] PostWallHelena 0 points 2.7 yearsOct 15, 2022 21:55:26 ago (+0/-0)

Helen of troy is sometimes treated as a demi-god.

Have some originality!

You know, I distinctly remember Ramzpaul saying pretty much the same thing as this. The irony...
