Hernia

submitted by DoughGoy to AskUpgoat 2.5 yearsOct 16, 2022 15:30:47 ago (+6/-0)     (AskUpgoat)

I am pretty sure I have a hernia. I have a pain that just started kind of to the left of my bladder. I feel a slight pressure there and the pain comes and goes every 60 seconds or so. It's not a horrible pain, but I'm afraid to strain now until I can find out from a doctor.
Has anyone had hernia surgery before? I'm worried about having to miss work for an extended amount of time if I have surgery, but I'm not sure what else to do.

Thanks for all the info. The doctor thinks it is just an infection in the semen tube and said antibiotics should knock it out.

Lay down on your back. Do as much of a sit up as you can without pain, or just enough to tense your abdominal muscles. Feel around the area. if it's all solid then you're probably fine. if you feel something bulbous and/or mushy where you're hurting then you probably need to go see one of those vaccine pushing faggots in the white coats.

Thanks.

I went to the doctor and checked me out and thought he felt a small hernia then said he didn't and finally he settled on it being an infection in the semen tube. It had a name like epidem...something. He game me some medicine and said that should knock it out within 10 days.

Be careful on what mesh you get. They push the tissue back through the whole in muscle tissue it traveled through. They then damn it up with a mesh to make sure it doesn't go back through. Having a loose piece of inorganic material against soft tissue in your body sometimes goes afoul.

I've got a hernia in that spot. If it isn't in terrible pain, just take it easy. If it were torn then you'd be in much more pain.

Will it go away or has to be fixed with surgery?

Yes

For me, I haven't had the surgery. The first time I tore it, i was in middle school football. The doctor told me that he could feel it, it was slightly torn, and that if I took it easy and didn't excercise or anything for two weeks I'd be alright. It was true.

It was injured again in my thirties, and I didnt go to the doctor. It was during covid so I didn't feel like going to the doctor.

I like this option! I have to get my hernia ultra-sounded and MRI'd soon. I'm still not sure if I will do the surgery.

I did get the surgery. First week after was pretty bad, but took it easy for a month and was able to go b ack to work. Took the month easy and was just fine.

No sex for at least a month, fren.

You sure it's not a small kidney stone?

Like others have said, if you do have a hernia, you'll very likely have to have surgery. I was in considerable pain with mine, but it took an ultrasound & MRI to detect it. Mine was an inguenal (testicular) hernia BTW, & I think I may have had it a lot longer than I was aware of. Had pain in the groin area for years which got progressively worse until it was unbearable & had to be fixed. They repaired it with a mesh, which has proved to be quite the hassle getting through airport security - it sets off those X-ray machines EVERY time, & I have to get the pervert pat-down. Truly a frustrating annoyance.

It is a little bulge.
Keep it pushed in you will be okay, maybe even get a hernia belt.

I had the repair surgery with mesh and it busted after 6 months, still have the same problem. Wish I had never gone through that agony of surgery and recovery.
Again I would say just live with it.
