Using the same tactics as mid 2000s spam websites, Amazon's failing Rings of Power made streamers stop watching, and through an un-avoidable pop-up ad, re-click to continue watching the show. In terms of web/streaming metrics, this technically doubles viewership.

Normally, this type of bullshit behavior can be caught auditing analytics....but Amazon are also the same people in charge of auditing (and the people who designed the scam) so yup these bogus figures will forever be enshrined by them as real.

Get ready for all the mainstream shitheads to shout "2 quintillion minutes of streaming for juggernaut Rings of Power as viewership quadruples for series finale".

The money is made up front via ESG score enhancement.
They don't sell movies by tickets or views anymore...it is all about getting ESG investors to back ESG propaganda which helps their bottom line in theory but results in all of them butchered with their heads on pikes along the highway instead... I don't think Amazon cares if people watch anyways. Most people aren't subscribing to prime for the videos. I don't even know why they offer anything. To felate themselves I think.
