The movie "Look Who's Back" is worth a look. It's a black comedy but it also shows Germans responding enthusiastically to Hitler, in 2014.

First of all, it was disappointing that the guy who played Hilter, Oliver Masucci, did not have blue eyes and he seemed a bit tall for the part. But he did the Hitler pep talk stuff and his relating easily to Germans quite well. It was really interesting how Germans who met him on the street gravitated to him. And when he got on TV he captivated the German audiences.

I remember watching this on Netflix when it came out (yeah yeah Netflix is jewed, these days I actively encourage people to cancel it). When I went to show the movie to others I first found that they removed the 5 star rating, then removed the movie entirely. I suspect this was because it became an accidental red pill.

I thought the book was ok. The translation felt bad and some lines near the end where a bit cringe. Still read it all.

Only ever listened to the audiobook which is great, but hear the movie is completely different.

I had a friend to whom I recommended a black comedy. He said "oh! I love black comedies!!!" Turns out he meant movies with black people. Got him to watch Dr. Strangelove though.
