Engineers get sent to prison all the time because they were "in a postion to know" something was dangerous. Yet despite Alec Baldwin being a producer on the set and certainly being in a position to know and control the dangers on the set the D.A. has still refused to file charges. Fuck this two tiered justice system.

The person shot was 42 yo cinematographer Halyna Hutchins so how did she get into the firing line, she was part of the production crew and was not an actor .. I would like to know if she had been in any kind of relationship with Alec Baldwin at any time, or had she at any time rebuffed any of his advances.

The way it actually works on set is it the armor handles the guns completely and hands it to the actor and the actor has no capability to modify those guns in any way and if they even were to say take out a clip or open a revolvers chamber to see if it was empty they would be taking on a responsibility for the gun that most would not have an expertise on. From my understanding Baldwin's big mistake here was playing around and pulling the trigger while pointing it at someone on a set that was not in an actual take for the TV show or movie.

But an actor questioning an armorer after being handed a gun and personally overriding the armor's final inspection with their own final inspection will be pretty much the equivalent of you going into your own house wiring and opening up a few sockets to see if they were done right and putting them back together. It would be fraught with peril and no actor would do it and furthermore no actor would have time to do it. An actor is called to set for their take their handed their props they come in in full costume with full makeup that they don't want to modify by doing a lot of exertion they're told where to stand where the receipt recite their lines and in which direction and they do it. They don't have a lot of time before the take and they rarely have a lot of time between takes and after the takes are finished the actor is usually immediately hustled off to the set because they need to have a wardrobe change or they need to learn their lines for their next scene. So I'm no fan of Alec Baldwin but the honest truth is unless he changed something about the gun and loaded it himself this is the armorers responsibility.

I'm surprised the jew isn't suing the woman he shot.

They should face criminal charges, not be sued. Funny thing is they'd be better off facing murder charges as at least they would be housed and fed in prison instead of being sued into poverty and death.
