medieval flails (basically what this is-- even the articulated head length to the grip area is the same) were known to cause high user fatigue since you had to use a lot of energy to bring up the momentum of the head before the strike. due to the articulation of the head, it was very difficult to defend against due to the somewhat random vector the head would swing-in from even when trying to intercept, even so far as being able to strike behind helmets and shields. The point of articulation, as shown, also allows a significant increase in the power of the head-- easily breaking bones and causing internal bleeding through armor.

This thing is as scary as it looks, but you'll be tired as fuck after going through a whole chord of wood with it. one point here, if he upgraded the from chain from steel link to roller chain (eg: bicycle/motorcycle chain), he could maintain all the benefits of the flail mechanism while reducing/eliminating the chance of this to swing off-axis-- as the chain would no longer be able to twist (as much) side-to-side-- an increase in accuracy (and safety). Roller chains are found on flail weapons as far back as the 1500s, so this wouldn't be implausible as a historical weapon.

I'd think the bicycle chain would be way less consistent. If there is any off axis force it will bind up for a second then unbind letting out the hammer, now you are stuck compensating for jerky and inconsistent motion.

Another piece for the "no ammo needed" arsenal...blade flail looks like fun!

I'll try just about anything if it seems fun at the time, but there are two things I don't play with: nunchucks and this axe.

That reminded me of nunchucks too, because learning them means bonking yourself on the head. He'll only do that once with that thing, but it's really impressive

You should try juggling knives. It's not that dangerous. I was once juggling some knives that were different weights, turns out it was hard to be consistent with that. One of them landed point down into my finger. The fun part is I had no intention of balancing it but there is stuck for like two seconds just balanced there. That's basically the worst that can happen. Everyone should juggle knives. Looks badass, not that dangerous once you realize a knife is only dangerous if there is someone on the other end.

Nope

That looks dangerous and inconvenient but I sure do love a wood stove

That woodpile house thing behind him is badass.

I thought the bladed flail was going to end badly.

Just make sure you hit the target. Otherwise your feed are going to have a bad experience.

As soon as I saw the chain axe I had to stop and check if this was v/WatchPeopleDie

[ - ] PostWallHelena 1 point 2.5 yearsNov 13, 2022 18:17:17 ago (+1/-0)

I would wear a helmet to flail that thing.

[ - ] IfuckedYerMum 0 points 2.5 yearsNov 13, 2022 21:00:25 ago (+0/-0)

lol I'd end up taking out a leg.

[ - ] NotAntifa75 1 point 2.5 yearsNov 13, 2022 16:42:48 ago (+1/-0)

Fun, but dangerous.

[ - ] solomonpapermaster 1 point 2.5 yearsNov 13, 2022 11:46:09 ago (+1/-0)

I won't lie, I want one. But my hand made kunai with chain was better. I took a knife with no handle and a small hole in the end and attached a rope. I was able to pierce anything a few feet away.

I felt like Scorpion.

someone actually proved this idea was dumb using physics.
