This mid-century aesthetic; so appealing.

For anyone else who was curious flugmotoren means aircraft engines.

How old is this that they had retractable gear? I can't tell what the sig is supposed to say

"Gotschke 40", so I assume that means 1940.

Retractable gear has been around since at least the 1920s with the Dayton-Wright RB-1.

BF-109s had BMW or Junkers engines, not Mercedes.

According to this the BF-109G-6 had a Daimler-Benz V12 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Bf_109

youre fucking right you are.

i didnt actually pick Daimler Benz as Mercedes tho, does it still count? Daimler was both in the UK and Germany but were essentially two companies.

TBH mostly I was impressed that you ID'd the aircraft from a sketch.
