Benefits of fasting over time

Fasting has been a huuuuge help for my fight against lyme, but it works great for healthy people too. With the stem cell release together with intense autophagy and improved HGH levels, this can actually cause you to age backwards quite noticieably over the course of just a few days.

Amount

A graph for idiots who don't understand that graphs need units on both axes, or else they are meaningless.

This comment is the only thing that matters in this thread.

Don't bother with charts if they don't mean anything.

The scale is labeled Maximum and Minimum. What's your fucking problem. Blood glucose is clearly 5/6th of a gridline above Mimimum Benefit Amount between days 4-5.
If that's not solid evidence that you should be fasting then you're just a fasting denier.

What does "minimum" intestinal stem cells mean? How big of a difference is this from "maximum"?

[ - ] Special_Prosecutor 0 points 2.4 yearsDec 6, 2022 17:02:07 ago (+0/-0)

"Minimum" is right there staring at you. It means mimimum amount of benefit... duh.
The difference between minimum and maximum is four (4) gridlines. Fuck, learn how to read a chart already.

[ - ] SecretHitler 1 point 2.4 yearsDec 6, 2022 17:43:19 ago (+1/-0)

So the maximum benefit could be 8 stem cells or it could be 8000. It could be anything and the chart is untrustworthy for that reason.

There's no way you're actually this stupid in real life stop larping as a retard.

Seems the magic number is 72 hours to get the most overall benefit.

Wonder if there is a negative trend for HGH if someone was to continue fasting, or it just ends at "nothing left".

[ - ] MasklessTheGreat 0 points 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 20:24:27 ago (+0/-0)

You can’t owe HGH to something so it’s none left. Unless your body stores something in fat to make HGH you will probably simply be out of HGH ingredients.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 2.4 yearsDec 7, 2022 10:15:34 ago (+1/-0)

This graph has an unusual "amount" axis. As far as I can tell with this graph, by day 5 you would have the same benefit as not fasting.

Assuming natural HGH happens while food is ingested, I'd like to find out how long can one go before HGH production stops (or negative benefit compared to the not-fasting rate).

So just water? Nothing else? What about carbonated water? Or lightly sweetened ("low-cal") lemonade? Not trying to be funny. Looking for real answers.

[ - ] I_am_baal [op] 2 points 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 22:43:58 ago (+2/-0)

Nothing with sugar or calories; so yeah, pretty much just water. You can take electrolytes though. Anything else won't result on what's shown in this graph.

[ - ] Cunt 1 point 2.4 yearsDec 6, 2022 03:53:50 ago (+1/-0)

So no vitamins with 5 calories?

[ - ] I_am_baal [op] 1 point 2.4 yearsDec 6, 2022 04:57:37 ago (+1/-0)

You might be able to get away with up to 15 calories, but really, you're not going to run out of vitamins during a fast; the body is great at storing what it needs and digging into those stores when it needs it, and with the effort that it takes to not eat for 3-5 days, I don't think it's worth deviating from established research and experience. Part of what causes these effects is the digestive system shutting down, causing the body to go "Hey, looks like we're struggling here. We better keep this body going and fix whatever it is that's preventing it from finding food and causing it to struggle." What I do personally is I load up on whatever I think my body needs for about a week before the fast and a week afterwards. I have experimented with doing things like taking vitamins and bone broth during a fast, but the positive effects were quite noticeably diminished. The most profound effects I've had have come from fasting for 3-5 days with nothing but water.

I expected a graph that goes across for about 1 week then crashes down.

[ - ] observation1 2 points 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 16:55:40 ago (+2/-0)

I'm sad fasting for 1 day hardly seems to make a bleep on their radar

[ - ] I_am_baal [op] 1 point 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 17:25:34 ago (+2/-1)

It's a lot easier than it sounds to fast for a few days. You've just got to work your way up to it. If you're already fat adapted, then your body doesn't need to switch between processing carbs and sugar to processing fat for energy. That makes it a wholel ot easier.

[ - ] observation1 4 points 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 17:56:41 ago (+4/-0)

Giving this some thought, I suppose it doesn't have to be 2 days.

To get to 41 hours:
Last meal 7pm Tue
Skip next day Wed
Eat at 12pm Thur

Or

Push that Thur 12pm to 7pm to get to 48 hours

[ - ] we_kill_creativity 0 points 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 17:09:02 ago (+1/-1)

Well...if you only do it for one day, then yeah, it won't do much. You have to stick with it regularly, hit some goals, then you'll start noticing quick results from it.

[ - ] prototype 1 point 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 18:37:21 ago (+1/-0)

Or you could just do HIT and carb cycle.

[ - ] Belfuro 0 points 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 17:21:02 ago (+1/-1)

You cannot fast while eating plants.

Cravings cone from consumption of sugar.

You need keto to reliably consistently fast

[ - ] kammmmak 0 points 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 17:46:37 ago (+0/-0)

Never thought of it but fruit is a plant. Always separated veges and fruits with veges being more "plant" like. Weird I see, it's all basically the same.
Oh well anyways, I am carnivore

[ - ] we_kill_creativity 0 points 2.4 yearsDec 5, 2022 17:07:53 ago (+1/-1)

I combine regular fasting, a low carb diet, and intense exercise 6 days a week for the best anti-aging effect I think you can have. Getting into ketosis (low carb) mimics a lot of the effects of fasting, just not as well, and the intense exercise regularly causes your body to produce it's "rebuild and refresh" hormones...I was a starting running back on a state ranked team back in high school and I'm positive I could go out now and play just as well or even better. (I'm 33...)

My regimen is pretty similar. Great minds think alike!
