That is absolutely 100% correct. The entire Laurel Canyon rock scene in the 1960s was manufactured and controlled by the CIA. It was part of Operation Chaos, a multi-faceted project intended to control dissidence in the US. The new rock scene was created and fostered by the CIA allegedly to present opposition to the war in a bad light by having the most depraved people of the youth movement oppose the war.

This would explain why NONE of them were ever drafted. I'll retract that if someone can give me an example of someone in Laurel Canyon who was drafted and either served or left the country to avoid conscription.
