€79 Harley Benton TE20 Guitar.

Ok we are in a buyer's market at this time as the i'net abounds with similar bargain basement guitars, thus in response to this video I decided to check the market price for the Indonesian Samick 12 stringer I purchased 20 yrs ago for $149 AU, which the salesman told me they had acquired as a trade.

Imagine my surprise when I found it retails for under 60 bux .. I needed a new acoustic after the neck bent on the old one rendering it untunable, this instrument caught my eye when I was about one pace inside the music outlet in the middle of the city, I thought it would be about 600 bux, it plays tremendously well and has a great warm tone.

It has a smaller body and narrower neck than most 12 stringers I call it the "Pocket Battleship," it is the flagship of my guitar fleet and has become my main "songs" guitar, fingerpicking is ok if you really want to work at it, I removed the octave G string and replaced it with a normal G string which takes the "jangle" that afflicts 12 stringers out, thus only the three bass strings are octaves. Edit.

12 strings are novelty to me. I love how they sound and love playing one... then after 10 minutes I am done and grab a Ovation or Yamaha classical nylon. or grab a Martin D or an Ibanez.

I can't believe you could buy a 12-string for $60 AU. Must be that the freight from China is 1/4 what it is to the US.
