Yeah I've seen other BD footage too and belived it was real. This one has that CGI feeling. The guy up top not flinching at all when the thing is thrown at him doesn't help either.

Not at this point it isn't. Not to mention these robots have yet to be put to a real test of working 6 months on a sometimes dusty, sometimes rainy job site. Plus I wouldn't use that robot within 20 miles of the coast, otherwise the salty air will have it's way with all those intricate components.

Years ago I worked at a factory that made vinegar. You talk about corrosive! That stuff will eat through Anything! They had to replace the air conditioners every year, sometimes twice a year. Robots would not last long in that environment!

With the push for minimalism in this level of robotics, I’m willing to bet the mechanics itself will soon become very reliable.
I think the robotics itself is practically mastered, it’s just the electronics they’re working on now.
