I had a thought that smoking cigarettes might be one of the things that keeps me from getting sick as often as the people around me.

I took up cigar smoking during Covid. I got thru 50 years of never smoking. I find it relaxing to just sit and think while I have a cigar.

I had plans to improve myself during the lock downs. Eat better. Work out more. Maybe read a few of the classics. Instead, I added one more disgusting habit to the pile.

what happened to your plans? Who is in control there anyways?

Just before the lockdown began, my electrician father-in-law found a car in a barn while on a job. It was a half completed 66 Shelby American Cobra. He knew I liked those cars so he took some pics. I ended up buying it from a widow. It had been her husbands project when he died around 2000. Finishing the car took all my time for a year. All other plans were dropped. Fortunately, both of my neighbors on either side of me restore old corvettes. They were a big help. We were supposed to be social distancing and isolating, but we were in my garage everyday. No masks…smoking cigars, doing shots and occasional working on the car. Covid was the best thing that ever happened to me.

The cigarette companies had it made for a while. Huge advertising budgets, they could blatantly lie to people, and they were able to make the product as addictive as possible. Basically they abused the public's trust, and now they are the whipping boys.

Vaping is still in "clinical trials". They may be safer but you cannot say it definitely until the first generation of vapers age out.

Well I can tell you for sure it's better for your quality of life than smoking.

I truly believe if big pharma was pushing vaping, it would be declared a wonder-drug. But of course it's nothing you can patent.

Possibly. I just wouldn't assume the "flavorings" in vapes are safe or even safer. PG/VG maybe safe, but just like Pepsi; the secrets ingredients are unknown.

That's true. It sucks that all the juice is Chinese.
