Fuck you Wikipedia and your bullshit re-design you faggot motherfuckers

submitted by CamelsMiller to whatever 2.4 yearsJan 21, 2023 20:30:27 ago (+14/-0)     (whatever)

Those motherfuckers changed the whole web UI to be like the mobile UI they had a specific m.* link for. Open that shit on a 4K wide screen monitor and go blind with the massive white empty spaces on the sides.

Their argument https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Reading/Web/Desktop_Improvements/Frequently_asked_questions#Why_is_the_width_of_the_content_limited? says

Quote: >When reading short lines, readers don't move their eyes too much, use the eye's muscles less intensively, thus avoiding eye strain.
Narrow paragraphs allow readers to memorize new information better.
On websites, there should be between 35 and 100 characters per line. Numbers closer to the smaller end are preferred.
The overwhelming number of major websites have similar limitations on content width. For example: academic journals like Nature, news websites like The New York Times, government and intergovernmental websites like the United Nations, academic documents like LaTeX, and word processors like Google Docs and Etherpad.

That is the biggest dick slap in the face saying fuck you to users on a PC and wide monitor. EYES are a HORIZONTAL functioning sense. NOT a VERTICAL sense.

Sorry I had to rant about this shit. The "option" to create an account an log in is shitballs fucked up solution. Yes Wikipedia has some bullshit all over, but sometimes it is needed to look up information on who played drums on the first Nickleback album.

Mobile is most computers now.

So they should design for the smaller market?

They don't have to choose one. You can do a design that shows one thing for desktop and another for mobile, even for the same url

Which sucks, "responsive design" is the worst shit ever. The number of tickets that hit my desk for issues with layouts changing when the window size changes is absurd.

No they are not.

We don't count what niggers do around here. Mobile websites are designed for niggers, mestizos, and faggots.

Are the changes inspired by mobile design?

No.

These changes are created specifically for desktop interfaces. All research and testing done for this project has been focused on desktop users only. We have, however, considered the experiences of people who use desktop in narrower screens (for example, if you have two tabs open side by side). At this time, we do not have plans to merge the desktop and mobile experiences.

You can use F.lux to lessen the white blinding light. That's what I use anyway. Give it a look, Goat.

You can override the css permanently in Firefox. There's plugins for it but there's a native way too. Unless that feature was removed I'm not looking it up. But yeah you can make the lines as long as you want and change the background and text color.

That's actually true about the short lines but if your reaction is anger when you see it that means they did it wrong.

What is that, like auto night-mode but for websites?

As an absolute last resort I'll use them but that equates to about twice a year. It's a shitty lying truth avoiding site not worth a damn so I don't really give a shit.

Yet another reason to avoid sites used by, built by, and pushed by the kike agenda.

I understand that it is important to stay abreast of what the enemy is saying, but as an enemy site [which wikipedia is], looking horrible is the least of its issues.

I was on there today and was wondering why I couldn't get off the unusable mobile site. Guess we can write that entire site off.

Open that shit on a 4K wide screen monitor

I mean yeah fuck pushing mobile design on desktop, but is that why you got a wide-screen monitor, to have super-wide lines of text in a single full-screen window?

Google responsive website guidelines always were about forcing devs to put ten pounds of shit into a five pound bags.

You can complain about an alternative not meeting your definition of perfection and not use it, continue to use wikipedia, or sit and pout about it. Don't bother telling me which you chose. I really don't care.

It's what pops up when I look for a book or series of books. Other than that, early life stuff, and maybe a start-point to look into something stupid. Anything to do with history, politics, science, jews, etc are all bullshit.
