when I got in public I hardly see anyone of note or I see homeless and druggies. I mean people just aren't going outside.
And then I have a friend who started working from home and he never leaves the house now at all (he rarely did before to begin with). and he makes up all these extra excuses as to why nobody can come over for example lately he's been saying that he's sick and he wouldn't want to expose anyone to the sickness... for over a month. what. ever.
Simultaneously, I know people who bitch that I'm not communicating with them right "I only do phone calls" "just stop over if you want to talk" "just send me a text" "don't leave me voicemails". A friend that moved across the country doesn't call or text hardly. I'll send videos to relevant topics and he just now tells me he hasn't been clicking most of them for years. Then tells me to call and talk. Idk why the fuck he's always buying the latest phone if he doesn't even want to use it. But I digress.
I found out this guy I thought was busy doing traveling (within the state) and car repairs at various places has been just laying in bed most days, puttering around the apartment.
Many people are going to work and then back to their apartments alone. Which... Seems odd. Even my elders were doing shit when I was younger. My aunts, uncle's, parents mostly sit home whenever they're not at work. No activities outside of home...or inside really. They sit on the phones and don't even talk to anyone who might be in the room. Family gatherings are idle banter, with an occasional outburst by my uncle and any male family member he can bait into talking to him.
Got friends traveling to other continents, they go there and stay in their hotel room. Or take stupid pictures of mountains or tourist destinations (what a waste of time and money, not to mention they're spreading their cultural illness from America everywhere they go). I asked some of these people why they even bother traveling to these places and they almost always say "I had some time off work and I've been here before. I guess I didn't have a plan for why I came here. Just habit I guess". As if they're just then realizing it. How one accidentally packs their bags, gets on a plane to go somewhere they don't particularly care to be I don't understand.
and not in the interesting way. Used to be that shut ins were at least super knowledgeable about whatever books they read all day or amazing at guitar or something
I noticed this too. It is Annoying
I've seen videos of nearly everywhere on earth, I don't need to go there since I already know what it looks like and it's free instead of 8000 dollars
Yeah, there ain't a fucking thing to see anywhere. Everywhere in the world has people sitting inside, so that makes going somewhere to see an exotic place far less exciting than it was ten years ago. Now it ain't worth it to go anywhere. So there is a point to be made that since everyone else isnt going out there is no reason To go do anything either. Which does circle back around to the annoying part you mentioned.
I used to travel a ton but stopped well before the lockdowns. It that true about everyone sitting inside wherever you go? Because it kinda makes me want to travel again. I stopped because I got sick of everything -- even goddamn mountain trails -- constantly having lines and being full of idiots.
Yes it's true people everywhere are sitting inside. I'm not sure which things would be better for traveling because of that though, because what happens is businesses shutdown and bitter people try keeping them going and demand high prices for lower quality service
"The Machine Stops" is a sci-fi parable published by E.M. Forester in 1909, about mankind's over reliance on technology. It basically foretold our modern age of inter-connected shut ins. In the story, most humans have lost the ability to live on Earth's surface, confining themselves to an underground existence. Everyone is snug and happy in their own little pod-style room, with all needs provided for by "The Machine," an entity that can be considered an analog for the modern internet. People do little else than chat by video with each other all day about idiotic ideas. Eventually, most everyone comes to worship this machine as a god. They forget it was built to serve them, not the other way around. Anyone who tries to warn of the impending doom caused by this machine breaking down is seen as a heretic, and threatened with being cast out to die in the unbreathable air of the surface. The Machine eventually stops working altogether, and everyone dies. Save for a few primitives living on the surface, who could still breathe real air due to not having been acclimatized to The Machine's life support system. Humanity's future is left to them.
Lockdown bro. People have become so fearful of risk that they clutch at their meager remaining stash. They’ve made lame people rich and truly interesting leople disenfranchised. It has been an attack on logic and the only way to get away is to hole yourself up and isolate from the madness… or you can choose the mucch more difficult path of going to battle. Which would you choose if you were already in a weakened state? It’s all so pathetic but unfortunately it makes sense. Fuck the fed.
I'm shut-in too nowadays, but more because i can't stand other peoples bullshit. Everyone around me is vaxxed too(except very few), so i already know their "thinking" patterns, with slight variations. I also noticed how empty peoples lives are. Like, some people travel to some place, they somewhat enjoy traveling, but when i ask anything about that place like population size and electricity and all other stuff, it's empty, nada. They are all about tourist hot-spots, "ethnic" food and nice views. Anyway, hard to find motivation to do "interesting" stuff nowadays. At least i read books and some days i hack into some random neighbours wifi, then hack into their phone/pc and look at their stuff and conclude how fucking boring they are and back i go drinking coffee and game while thinking that we live in such empty world.

Pick up an instrument and it may lead to you seeking out others to jam. Once a week I get together with 3-5 other guys in a garage and for 4-5 hours we get real loud, drink beer and play music. If I didn't have that relief valve, I probably would go postal.
I found ways to find out what they were doing and why and never gave an opening for them to say a shortcoming is a personal problem with me (there is a strange human behavior I discovered where if someone fails at a task they will blame those around them, especially whoever was relying on them (even if they have nothing to do with it). Once I learned this it opened things wide up for investigation).
Once you start finding out what people are actually doing you can position yourself in ways that make it look like you're coincidentally bumping into them. It also helps to anticipate future information and ask questions about things you anticipate in the event you do somehow become a problem or grab key pieces of information about a way in which you think they'll blame you. Depending on what information you get, it's a good idea to find a way to casually bring it up to other key actors, preferably in a context that is different from what you anticipate to happen. This way, that information is grounded in different sources, and it is grounded before anyone knew it would become relevant.
I've been doing this for 7 years now to keep people honest. And I know I'm not anyone's problem. I found out that people have lots of problems tangled throughout their life and it's not easy for them to verbalize and explain it and when things hit the fan they blame whoever is closest.
Something is going on in the world and it is not good. I'm working on getting out of a funk but I was stabbed in the back by a covert narrcisit... and it's been rough but I'm getting back to it
There's niggers everywhere, or fucktards. I traveled to AU/NZ to experience more White culture, and to take in the beauty of the nature of multiple day hikes, bike rides, and horse backing prior to the 'outbreak' of covid. My will to travel is gutted. NZ, although beautiful, wasn't a whole lot different than the mountains of home. The people there, although nice, are fake and gay.
At this point I stay within about 1000 miles of home and call it good. Friendly with the neighbors, part of local radio groups, and focus on the family.
Perhaps if I had more friends I'd have similar complaints, but I count them on a single hand anymore. Everyone else is just someone I know.
i always go for walks to the shop/park etc and rarely see any other people besides a few older people. if i go to the mall or a restaurant, both places i hate, then i see them all there. they love to go where everyone else is. most of them have to work because without their slavery they have nothing else to do. they have zero mental vigour to gain new information.
Covid fear was one thing, the lockdowns and resulting lost jobs and forced in-doors put a lot of people into bad habits. Social media should be outlawed, it's as addictive as drugs.
Yeah, something needs to be done about those fucking social media sites.. and porn. I didn't know just how much people were consuming that... God .. the sheer time some people spend on that is crazy, even if nothing else was a factor
Yeah, used to have this. In recent years the people who drag me out just waste my fucking time to where they make me actually want to sit inside in lieu of doing stuff with them.
