Not to say this is the case here, but I heard an interview once with a guy that trained a few world class race horses.
He said he refuses to take female clients, because:

wealthy women are habitually neurotic, and destroy their animals because horses take on whatever their owners psychology is, and I’ve actually seen a trainer die and a half dozen seriously injured working with women’s horses.
It’s just not worth it.

I never liked horses. Just asshole animals. My brother and his first wife had a couple and they were just pain in the ass to ride, take care of, etc. Sooner or later most people get sick of them and sell them to someone else. It's like buying a used car. You're buying someone else's problems.
