Ok.. so there is water and it's wet but does it stay wet after processing in this "hot water heater"? If the water turns to steam the remaining water is dry is it not? What if the water is already hot?
So it goes through a "cold water cooler" afterwards like an air conditioner so I can drink it or use my HE coldwater washing machine? Is that double processing why my clothes don't get clean?
Im not sure if this is a relevant question as it is not directly a "water" related question, but when you mentioned the stained shirt thing, i thought, maybe my missing sock situation was related somehow?
I always heard "water heater" or "hot water tank", the latter from the old fart farmer types who remember (or still have) water tanks that don't have integrated heating elements.
I have a wonderful well. It has a tiny bit of iron in the water. I have to replace my water heater about every 20 to 25 years. The pressure switch has to be replaced every 8 to 10 years. That tiny bit of iron gives my water a good taste. It's not really a taste as much as it gives it body? Maybe? It's not enough to turn our clothes orange. We will never move because we would never have a well this good anywhere else.
This. They dissolve and have to be replaced. They exist to kill odd smells and tastes. I work in a major city and had a water drip in a pipe that was over a breezeway and couldn't get to it right away. Half a day later it stopped dripping due to the calcium and rust in the water. I filter all my drinking water.
As a side note you must be in a low mineral area so you don't have a lot of minerals leaching into your well water. Not much limestone is my guess. Probably hard rock or sand like Florida or some Rocky mountain State?

This conversation is retarded.

They are sacrificial anodes. They rot out instead of the steel tank.
Old water heaters had three and lasted forever. The new ones have only one and last ten years.
