"During inspections after the blade throw, maintenance reports for the project show the company found broken blade bolts on another half dozen turbines."
Safe and effective!

So, I love windmills. Something about seeing a whole bunch of them turning in unison just really gets me going. It's weird, I know, but whatever.

That said, I know the windmills currently being installed (as cool as they are to watch turn) are pure idiocy. And why?

The answer is: the scale - the size of the damned things.

See, on a smaller scale, wind power for local use actually does make sense and can be pretty efficient. It's when you get a 300-foot span on the blades and the tips are moving at hundreds of miles per that you get the massive erosion and stresses which break down the mill.

And here's the thing: The people making and financing these massive debacles KNOW THIS. Sure, they acted all surprised a year or so ago when it came out that the fiberglass was eroding - but THEY KNEW. Any decent engineer would know these things.

I believe wind power should be harnessed. But not on such a massive scale. I lived on a sailboat for seven years and there were plenty of boats around me rocking small wind turbines. They didn't make a bunch of noise (most were darned near silent) and they do generate a decent amount of power.

The "environmentalists" promoting these massive wind turbines are idiots and the engineers building them are working with the people financing them as part of the big global put-on of "Global-Homo-Enviro-Covid-Mentalism".

Don't be local to industrial locations, whether it's wind turbines, chemical transport networks (railroads), or whatever.

Found your problem.

While wind turbines are far from perfect, or a solution for all our energy needs, I think there is a place for them in the energy grid. We have been using windmills for thousands of years and if you hate on clean wind energy you are a dumb fck.
