My wife has this annoying habit

submitted by paul_neri to Women 2.2 yearsFeb 24, 2023 04:08:48 ago (+3/-3)     (www.psychologytoday.com)

https://www.psychologytoday.com/au/articles/200603/the-dangers-double-checking

We'll be on a drive somewhere, usually a long one and miles from home, and she'll say: "did you check the front door was closed" and I, of course, can't remember if I did or not. So I have this niggle about the front door and so does she and it impairs the enjoyment of our trip. I wish she'd just shut up because if I did leave the front door unlocked there's nothing I can do about it. So what I do now if she asks me one of her "did you" questions is answer "yes" because at least one of us feels reassured instead of both of us feeling niggled.

Miles huh? That “Australian” unit of measurement.

I was hoping no-one would pick it up. KMs just doesn't have the same mental image imo (sounds like it's just down the road).

Why don't you get an inhome spy system so your wife can fly it around and check if the door is locked or the iron is on?

You'd love that shit.

They left out one.. After checking it, did I accidently turn it on after checking it? And now having to check again.

That shit is miserable.

You have two choices, take pictures with your phone or get into an argument about it right before you leave.
