If I were the family, I think I'd be rooting for all 3 to disappear.

They were caught I guess. I expect the body to be found eventually, and these 2 will claim it died on its own. The mother will tell them where the baby is, but it's probably dead.

Then there will be a trial, which may be news in Europe but probably not here in the US. Because some lawyer will think well you can't prove my client did it.
