Time to start parking your current car indoors

I refuse to buy a vehicle with Onstar in it after that company turned it's records over to police, without a warrant or even being asked, of a DUI fatality.

I'm not saying the guy was right for drinking and driving but it was HIS vehicle, his property, that sealed his guilty verdict. They used his own driving behavior against him.

No victim, no crime.

Huh.
They didnn't even have to prove it was him driving in that data?

[ - ] RMGoetbbels 0 points 2.3 yearsMar 3, 2023 22:27:07 ago (+0/-0)

Sort of. They used the time/location/speed data to prove that he had stopped at 3-4 bars along the trip.

Nowadays they could also get that information from your phone provider and Google or whatever if location tracking is on.

if location tracking is on.

Lol, as if turning it off does anything.

No idea, but I don't think that Google will give your information to just the cops if location was turned off. Because then everyone would know that they are still tracking you. Which they pretend not to.

Good point. They have to give it to the NSA or FBI fags first, and they have to do the run-around to make it look like they "found" it and then give it to the police. That takes effort, which means that unless you grabbed (((their))) attention somehow, it probably won't be used.

Ah, so just for the day in question.
Somehow, I misconstrued your statement to mean they went back and tried to tie previous activity to somehow build a case against his character.
Man, I'm jaded; I've really gotta knock that off.

Do you really own it?

[ - ] La_Chalupacabra 1 point 2.3 yearsMar 3, 2023 21:15:55 ago (+1/-0)

I'm just renting it from Mother Nature.
She's slowly repo-ing it rust scale by rust scale.

Yeah well I don't see why you would tow it when it can drive itself.

OnStar can already do this. You call them saying "my car is stolen", they can lock the doors, control the speed, steer, kill the engine with the fucks inside.

A car makes you a slave to insurance payments, fuel purchases, registration fees, repair costs, and road rage.

3000+ people die daily in vehicle collisions.

A hundred thousand+ injured daily in vehicle collisions.

Get one for yourself today and play vehicle roulette! Fun for the whole family!

Don't care, public transport is absolute shit and worth the premium to stay away from poorfags.

That's why I only own 20 year old cars. They still have a computer in them, but I'm pretty sure they're not transmitting my movements.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 1 point 2.3 yearsMar 3, 2023 23:18:28 ago (+1/-0)

I'm pretty sure my car used to send movements to at least the manufacturer a la OnStar, but its radio no longer works. Any radio older than 4G no longer works. So if you look up when they started putting 4G radios in cars, and your car is older than that, it's no longer sending cellular data. Cars had 3G radios as late as 2019, so your car doesn't have to be that old to be offline now.

Another thing that will be called racist when an extreme proportion of the vehicles are liberated from blacks months behind on payments.
