Yes, and the murderous Allied bombings of Germany helped the Soviet Union outweigh the German's in war production by almost every item except shipbuilding. But also the faulty planning of the Operation Barbarossa helped on that front, as the Luftwaffe was not given the task of strategic bombing such as bombing areas to disrupt the Soviet's rail communications and to reduce their armament potential but Luftwaffe's task was to mainly provide tactical ground support. This allowed the Soviet Union to evacuate their war industries and keep up with their war production.
Ya, it was the biggest military invasion in human history, by a country that was just about starved out of existence 10-15 years earlier. There was plenty of mistakes. They had no idea how big the Soviet machine actually was but had great reason to think it was all parked on the border ready to invade because there was more then 3 million Soviet troops sitting on polands border with no barracks or defensive weaponry when Barbarossa started. At the very least you can understand why they chose total blitzkrieg thinking they could get their entire military by surprise. Plus they had already proved that blitzkrieg would only work for 600km before getting bogged right down, so at least at first you can understand why they prioritized the Luftwaffe to help get men in as far as possible hoping to smoke the red army and take out Moscow quick. If only…

Only Moscow was not considered a priority target by Hitler as the Army Groups going North towards Leningrad and South to Ukraine was given prioritization instead of the Army Group in the center which was heading towards Moscow. Thus the momentum of a fast attack on Moscow was lost and the delay to attack Moscow allowed the Russian's to build up their defenses of Moscow and when the German's finally started their offensive against Moscow, the muddy season had arrived and that gave German's a huge disadvantages because the mobility of the Panzers was heavily affected, not allowing them to be used at their full potential.
