Affordable method for making your own laundry detergent. The comment about making a powdered version is excellent but the lady who wrote it doesn't know about paragraphs so read at your own discretion. :)

The same commenter does say if you go with the liquid version the woman in the video demonstrates, use less water for a cleaner and better-smelling wash.

That shade of lipstick just isn't working for her. The advantage of being a solid brunette is that most colors look good on you...except that one.

and her water is that hot because someone cranked up the water heater or adjusted the unit higher than what's recommended. It's nice to have that HOT water but it's expensive and inefficient. It takes a long time to get it up to temp and more gas/electricity to keep it there.

Agreed, though I am pretty sure I use less than 1/4. I don't even measure, just a quick drizzle of a circle before loading the clothes.

My wife and I haven't used ANY detergent in two decades. There is something way better and way cheaper and hypoallergenic.

I grate any old bar of soap. It all works the same to me. I have one jar with soap, one jar with borax and one with washing soda. A spoonful of each in the wash. I use very hot water because I don't like superbugs, and it makes me feel better whether hot kills them or not.

Peroxide soap kills some, and bleach others.

Leave the bar in the freezer overnight so it's easier to shred.

Also, I skimmed the video and I didn't see her do it, but add a little borax powder -- about 2 Tbsp per gallon.

Ooo, I like that idea but there just isn't room next to my heart and besides even if there were, black and pink don't look good together.
