The best mouse trap I've used so far is the glue pad type.

submitted by Nosferatjew to whatever 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 01:24:12 ago (+14/-0)     (whatever)

I've caught 10 mice in the past 24 hours with 4 glue pads. I was using more traditional traps, but was having issues with mice that were too small, and thus too light to set off the traps. Glue pads don't gaf how small the mouse is. Once they step onto it, they're fucked.

I just ordered a case of glue pads. Mouse genocide incoming.

Alternatively, you could put it into a Ziploc bag then into the freezer.

Try a bucket with about half water, a little ramp going up it with a chunk of peanut butter hanging over the center. Have a piece of string running lengthwise through the bottom to the top through holes in a water bottle/ soda bottle. When the little fuckers step on the bottle to reach the pb the bottle spins them into their new swimming pool where they can see who the best swimmer is. Works great.

Magnet holds plank for breakaway drop, rather than gradually tilting unstable plank.

I've been using the "TOMCAT" glue pads since they came out,,,just don't forget where you set them

[ - ] Gowithit 3 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 01:49:18 ago (+3/-0)

Those are the ones we use and he did forget. I pulled out a dresser the other day to vaccum and there was a trap back there that I didnt know about with two what looked like baby ones on there and they looked pretty dead. Like maybe 3 weeks to a month worth of dead. Gross.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 18:57:53 ago (+0/-0)

If you don't check any kind of mouse traps, they're going to have dead mice in there.

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 19:18:35 ago (+0/-0)

It was more about the setting and forgetting part.

But wait! We've seen one of those mice rip himself off of one of those white board sticky pads before. Another one was able to stretch his body enough to bite the husbands cousins hand as he was grabbing it to throw it out.

Another time we saw one just jump over it.

Some of them are strong enough to move the board as they are struggling to get free.

Not a one that I have known of has gotten loose on these black ones. And they've all been pretty quiet about getting caught on them.

Those are illigal now in the UK.

Are you serious? Fucking animal activists are just as bad as trannys.

[ - ] WanderingToast 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 14:56:05 ago (+0/-0)

I think it's down to the fact that glue traps are unecessarily painful and gnarly for the mouse. Also it fucks up other creatures

[ - ] Zyklonbeekeeper 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 16:46:05 ago (+0/-0)

I'll tell you what's unnecessarily painful...fucking mice and jew-like rodents chewing up electrical wires, shitting up the drawers and pantry, leaving their rotting corpses in the breaker box after being electrocuted, destroying insulation and making their shit smelling nests in my camp gear, I fucking hate them and I really don't care if they suffer or not...I throw them right into the woodstove trap and all and I don't check for a pulse before I do it either...

LoL sounds like you've been hit pretty hard by the critters.

Maybe invest in a cat 😺

I’ve never tried to trap a mouse until a few days ago. He keeps springing the trap without getting caught. Then he eats the peanut butter.

[ - ] texasblood 1 point 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 06:04:46 ago (+1/-0)

Snap traps and peanut butter still work here.
Main thing is dealing with why the mice are even around to begin with. Feral cats also help a lot, the less you feed the better they hunt.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 1 point 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 04:05:05 ago (+1/-0)

Thankfully I've only had to deal with a single mouse in my garage here. A simple traditional trap worked. Trying to kill as many as you would require a much larger trap I think.

Or just a lot of glue pads.

I think they aren't going to be sold any more in Aus because they catch other animals e.g. micro bats. I use bait (poison) which is not good either (birds eat the dead rats) but I have no real choice.

[ - ] Nosferatjew [op] 2 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 03:28:28 ago (+2/-0)

Wtf is a micro bat? Just a really small bat?

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 1 point 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 04:03:46 ago (+1/-0)

Make your own.

The animal can be released by applying a bit of cooking oil.
Actually, considering how fragile bats are, I would probably let animal control deal with it; they probably have an expert that deals with such things.

That's what my sister told me, but I realized I had an old rat eviction guarantee from the pest control company, and they came and put down snap traps.

[ - ] goat777 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 14:01:17 ago (+0/-0)

A bucket with a piece of cheese at the bottom and a piece of wood as a ramp. You'll catch the whole family, they won't be able to jump out and you can turn them loose somewhere far from your home.

[ - ] Endo_Aryan 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 09:46:02 ago (+0/-0)

My original mouse trapper was eaten by an owl or maybe a coyote. Unfortunately Kristall never managed to go kristallnacht on our rodent problem.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 19:01:46 ago (+0/-0)

How fuckin' big is that owl?

[ - ] GrayDragon 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 09:05:48 ago (+0/-0)

Anyone that uses glue traps and just tosses the living mouse in the trash is a nigger.

[ - ] carnold03 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 3, 2023 07:14:18 ago (+0/-0)

Are you catching them on a farm or a warehouse, because 10 mice in one day would be completely unreal for someone's home.

You want to get d-con refillable corner traps

Active ingredient is
Diphacinone

They go in and they leave before they die.
