I've had submariners tell me that in all seriousness, the most accurate submarine movie is Down Periscope.

And if any of you should for whatever godforsaken reason find yourself in SF, the audio tour of the USS Pompanito is almost worth going to SF for.

I'll check it out if I'm there. I've been on an ex russian sub before. They had a picture of the statue of liberty taken through the periscope which was neat.
