Jesus died, rose from the dead, and then (40 days later) ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN. He's alive today.

Death is separation of the body from the soul and Spirit, final death is eternal separation from God. Jesus was separated for the time he was in the grave. After he was risen, he lives forevermore.

The Bible describes it this way;
The first death is the separation of the body, spirit and soul and the occupation of sheol (the grave).
For a believer, their soul is united with the Lord in Paradise (Abraham's bosom, typically associated with 'Heaven', as on the cross Jesus says to the thief who believed on him in Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.).

For the un-believer, they are sent to a place of fire and torment, Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. - Mark 9:44 (Gehena(Gehinnom which is Valley of Hinnom (used to be where you would burn trash and refuse))/Hades/Hell)

The second death happens upon the return of Christ and resurrection of the dead. The saved unto everlasting life (and a glorified body!) and the damned to the lake of fire, where is thrown hell and death.

And after the earth is passed away by fire in judgement, there will be a New Heavens and a New Earth. So we won't be disembodied forever. The Bible tells us that "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:2

I would think we get those bodies in Heaven, because Jesus is coming with ten-thousands of his saints. And those who are alive when he comes are glorified after the dead rise first. It'll be a sight to behold! Oh that glorious sight! Come Lord Jesus!
